Enlightenment in Sculpture at ARTZUID 2025

This year, Amsterdam's southern boulevards are transformed into an open-air museum with the ninth edition of ARTZUID, the Amsterdam Sculpture Biennale. This year's theme, "Enlightenment," coincides with Amsterdam's 750th anniversary, celebrating the city's enduring spirit of freedom, tolerance, and innovation.

Curated by art historian Ralph Keuning, ARTZUID 2025 features over 60 sculptures and installations by internationally acclaimed artists, including Alicja Kwade, Leiko Ikemura, Tschabalala Self, Neo Rauch, and Atelier van Lieshout. The artworks, ranging from abstract to figurative, will be displayed along the Apollolaan, Minervalaan, and Churchilllaan, inviting visitors to reflect on the human condition, history, and our collective future.

The biennale opened on May 21 and will run until September 21, 2025. It is free to the public and accessible 24/7, with an information pavilion at Minervalaan 1 offering route maps, catalogues, and guided tours every weekend.
