On the 28th of January, 2023, the Royal Academy of Arts in London hosted the Charity auction to benefit the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine. The event was initiated and organised by the Natalia Cola Foundation and the Royal Academy of Arts.

    Funds were being directly raised for urgent structural repair to NAAU buildings and provision of the equipment, support of scientific, publishing and exhibition activities of the NAAU, grant programme for Ukrainian artists to participate in programmes in Ukraine and abroad, digitisation support of the institution.

«In the Eye of the Storm. Modernism in Ukraine 1900’s – 1930’s» – the name of the large-scale project that is the comprehensive display of Ukrainian Art from the beginning of the 20th century to be shown in the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum (Madrid, Spain).

    The exhibition "In the Eye of the Storm: Modernism in Ukraine, 1900–1930s" presents ground-breaking art produced in Ukraine in the first decades of the 20th century, showcasing trends that range from figurative to abstract art.
    The curatorial group includes Dr. Konstantin Akinsha (USA/Italy), art critic and co-founder of the Foundation for the Study of the Avant-Garde, and Kateryna Denysova, PhD Candidate at the Courtauld Institute of Art.

The multimedia project «Ukrainian revival» was held from July 22 to August 5 at the Monegasque National Committee of the International Association of Plastic Arts at UNESCO (Monaco). «Ukrainian revival» was a charity project: a part of proceeds from the sale went to the Ukrainian charity foundations.

Avant-Garde: In Search of the Fourth Dimension

The project presented the work of avant-garde artists from museums and private collections. There were the works of Bogomazov, Yermilov, Exter, Burlyuk, Petritsky, Kosarev, Rodchenko. In addition to the museum part, the project presented an audiovisual show from Front Pictures team that brought to life the most vivid examples of the world avant-garde.

    The title “Avant-Garde: In Search of the Fourth Dimension” referred to the leading ideas of avant-garde with its ambition to go beyond three-dimensional visible world. Organisers of the project were M17 Contemporary Art Center, ArtCult Gallery, Natalia Shpytkovska Art Advisory, National Art Museum of Ukraine, Mystetskiy Arsenal and Adamovskiy Foundation.

A presentation of the Ukrainian project “In the Eye of the Storm. Modernism in Ukraine 1900-1930s”, which is scheduled for autumn 2022 at the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum in Madrid, Spain. Curators are Kostiantyn Akinsha, Katia Denysova and Olena Kashuba-Volvach.

Charity auction "Benefit for Ukraine’s People & Culture"

As part of the 59th La Biennale di Venezia on April 21, a charity auction "Benefit for Ukraine's People & Culture" took place. The 14 lots generously donated by artists and their galleries raised more than €1.2 million for humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. ArtCult Gallery joined the auction and provided works of Ukrainian artists.

    ArtCult Gallery joined the auction and provided works of Ukrainian artists. The raised funds from the auction were donated to organizations such as the Appeal of Conscience Foundation, the Maria Pryimachenko Family Foundation, Museum Crisis Center, and Ukrainian Emergency Art Fund.

"Safeguarding the Irreplaceable" selling exhibition

On April 25, Christie's with World Monuments Fund opened a selling exhibition "Safeguarding the Irreplaceable". Dedicated to Ukrainian visual art, it combines the works of Ukrainian modernists and Ukrainian photographers. ArtCult Gallery became one of the partners of the selling exhibition.

    For the selling exhibition "Safeguarding the Irreplaceable" the collection of «Odesa Parisians» was generously given by Ukrainian avant-garde Foundation, which is supervised by Oleksandr Suslenskiy, Borys Fuksmann, and Andriy Adamovskiy. A part of raised funds were donated to World Monuments Fund to support vital cultural heritage recovery and preservation in Ukraine.

International Art Collectors’ Forum

A forum organized by the M17 Contemporary Art Center and the Ukrainian Club of Contemporary Art Collectors in partnership with the Modern Art Research Institute of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine and ArtCult Gallery.

    An Open Opportunity exhibition as a part of International Art Collectors’ Forum presented the museum model as a view of contemporary art in Ukraine. The logic of the exhibition was built on 6 iconic directions: Odesa conceptualism, Kharkiv photography, Kyiv non-conformism, "new wave", plastic abstraction, or pictorial and graphic experiments of Lviv artists.

Presentation of NFT art in the virtual space

In Summer 2022, Victor Sidorenko’s NFT art exhibition was opened in the virtual academy DAN.IT at the Meet Zeon Metaverse. The exhibition is a charity project. The funds received from the sale of Victor Sydorenko’s NFT-artworks were transferred to the charitable funds to support Ukrainian culture.

    The previous six editions of the NFT series have already been sold out. Considering the achievements and career of the artist, the NFT art of Victor Sydorenko is not just a speculative digital asset, but genuine art itself. 50% of the funds received on sales were donated to charity.
