Lady Dewi Sukarno and the Earth Aid Society Foundation
The participation of Ukrainian artists in this year's Le Salon d'Automne was made possible with the generous support of philanthropist Lady Dewi Sukarno and the Earth Aid Society Foundation.
Dewi Sukarno supports Ukraine and Ukrainians, she came to visit Kyiv city a year ago and provided humanitarian aid, and now she kindly supports the participation of the NAA of Ukraine in the 120th Le Salon d'Automne.
Lady Dewi Sukarno is a Japanese businesswoman, socialite, television personality and philanthropist. The first lady to Indonesia’s first president for the last decade of his life, in 1960, she was appointed as the Honorary Chairwoman of the Japan-Indonesia Friendship Association. However, Dewi Sukarno’s legacy and extensive international charity work continue beyond the borders of these countries.
Formerly the chair of the Imperial Charity Ball, she has contributed large donations to the Japanese Red Cross Society, the Association for Aid and Relief Japan and the Special Olympics. Sukarno has also made donations in disaster-stricken areas like Kashmir, Tohoku and North Korea. In 2005, she became the founder of the Earth Aid Society, a non-profit organisation that aims to support refugees and disaster victims worldwide.
Honouring the culture, history and traditions of each country, Lady Dewi Sukarno is committed to improving environmental and political conditions by cultivating a spirit of love for the human social environment and for all humanity.
The Earth Aid Society Foundation’s mission is to support refugees worldwide who have fallen prey to politics and disaster victims, prevent the destruction of the natural environment on Earth, provide support to talented artists, prevent cruelty to animals, and extend a helping hand to the underprivileged.
