Exhibition at the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire in Geneva

The Musée d'Art et d'Histoire (MAH) in Geneva inaugurated its fifth XL exhibition, titled "La Genevoise: Carte Blanche à Carol Bove," on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The event was attended by Marc-Olivier Wahler, the museum's director, and other notable participants.

Carol Bove, Geneva-born and New York-based artist, has been invited to reinterpret 15,000 years of Genevan history through the museum's collection. Her exhibition offers a fresh perspective on Geneva's rich heritage, presenting a new narrative that intertwines the city's past with contemporary artistic expression, blurring the boundaries between art and everyday objects.

Presented chronologically, the artworks of Bove take a creative, anthropological, interactive and educational approach. An invitation to touch, feel and observe in a new way, free from convention, to redefine the relationship of the audience with art and the museum.

This exhibition is part of the MAH's ongoing series of XL exhibitions, which provide artists with the opportunity to engage deeply with the museum's extensive collections and present large-scale, immersive installations. Under the leadership of Marc-Olivier Wahler, appointed as director in 2019, the MAH continues to foster innovative collaborations that bridge historical artifacts with modern artistic interpretations.
