Lafayette Anticipations and Fondation Galeries Lafayette
Lafayette Anticipations is a new contemporary art foundation in the Marais cultural district of Paris. Since its opening on March 10, 2018, the Foundation has been the first multidisciplinary centre of its kind in France. An industrial building, dating from 1891, has been renovated by OMA, Rem Koolhaas’s architecture firm, and radically transformed into a multipurpose structure and exhibition space dedicated to contemporary arts.
Fondation Galeries Lafayette is a public interest Fondation that supports international creators in the fields of contemporary art. Lafayette Anticipations initiatives are led by two general interest organisms, the Fondation d’entreprise Galeries Lafayette and the Fonds de dotation Famille Moulin, established by the Galeries Lafayette Group and its stakeholder family. The Fondation acts as a catalyser, providing artists unique, made-to-measure conditions in which to produce, experiment and exhibit.
