Following a successful first edition last year on the premises of the newly built Grand Palais Éphémère, Paris+ par Art Basel is returning this week to the French capital.
The event will likely serve as Paris’s main art fair, as Paris has seen a rise in art commerce post-Brexit. This year 156 galleries from 34 countries will showcase solo, duo and group presentations within the framework of this year’s art fair.

“Galleries”, the main part of Paris+ by Art Basel, features modern and contemporary art galleries presenting artworks, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, photography, video and digital art. The “Emerging Galleries” sector brings together galleries presenting young and emerging artists through a solo exhibition, and the “Sites” sector is intended for art projects taking place in the heart of Paris, beyond the Grand Palais Éphémère.

This year, Paris+ will work with the city of Paris to help cultivate the excitement, by featuring public works in five locations, including the Jardin des Tuileries and the Place Vendôme. As part of this collaboration, the fair is running a conference entitled Conversations at the Centre Pompidou.
