About Contemporary Istanbul
The 18th edition of the Contemporary Istanbul took place from September 27 to October 1, with a preview on September 26-27 in the historical shipyard Tersane Istanbul, a venue located on the grounds of a former Ottoman-era shipyard on the shores of the Golden Horn.
Launched in 2006, Contemporary Istanbul today is the leading annual art fair in Turkey, situated at the meeting point of Europe and Asia in one of the vibrant cities of the world. Strongly rooted in the rich local context, the fair actively contributes to the dynamic culture of Istanbul and supports its creative industries.

Location: Cibali, Kadir Has Cd., 34083 Fatih/İstanbul
The Rezan Has Museum, opened to the public in 2007, was converted into the central building of Kadir Has University from the Cibali Tobacco and Cigarette Factory in 2002 through a comprehensive and meticulous effort by the Kadir Has Foundation.
The collection includes archaeological artefacts covering a wide time span from the Neolithic Period to the Seljuk Period, as well as documents and objects related to the Cibali Tobacco Factory.

Pera Museum marks the initial phase of an all-encompassing cultural initiative undertaken by the Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation, with the aim of offering arts and culture in this prominent location of the city.
“Orientalist Painting”, “Anatolian Weights and Measures” and “Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics” collections belonging to the Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation and along with the values these collections represent; aim to pass it on to future generations, sharing it with the public.

On this special trip, you are invited to discover the colourful world of Iznik tiles in two magnificent structures that Mimar Sinan gifted to Istanbul. Rüstem Pasha Mosque decorated with more than 2300 tiles in 80 different patterns and Süleymaniye Mosque and Complex, one of the most important works of Mimar Sinan, will be visited in the company of a professional guide.

Selman Bilal invites the guests of Contemporary Istanbul to B3 House to introduce his collection named after the B3 House designed by Aga Khan award-winning architect Han Tümertekin. During the event, Selman Bilal will share the collection, including recently acquired works, and offer the opportunity to meet and interact with the artists whose works will be on display. Commissioned by Hayreddin Barbarossa, the Grand Admiral of the Ottoman Navy, this architectural marvel was constructed between 1530-1540 by the renowned Mimar Sinan.
The exhibition delves into themes of ruin, history and healing, inspired by the bath's rich past and will be a rare opportunity for visitors to experience the exquisite architecture of the hamam.

Elgiz Museum was founded in 2001 by collectors Sevda and Can Elgiz as Turkey's first contemporary art museum.

Akbank 41st Contemporary Artists Prize Competition is held to support the original and innovative expression of contemporary art.
Organized in collaboration between the Painting and Sculpture Museums Association and Akbank Sanat, curated by Ferhat Özgür, its aim is to encourage developments in the field of contemporary art and provide support to young artists.

Ari Meşulam has been collecting since the early 2000s after a trip to Art Basel was an eye-opener to the wonderful world of Contemporary art. The collection, albeit more figurative, is eclectic and include young Turkish artists as well as some more estabilshed Western artists.
