About Art Basel Paris 2024

Art Basel Paris 2024 is held from October 18-20, 2024, at the newly renovated Grand Palais in Paris, with VIP Preview Days and Special Program on October 15-17. The show features 194 galleries from 42 countries, including 51 first-time participants and 64 French galleries.
Launched in October 2022 as Paris+ par Art Basel, the fair has been taking place at the Grand Palais's temporary venue, the Grand Palais Ephemere, located on the Champ-de-Mars, until the sheduled restoration of the iconic Grand Palais was completed in 2024. The renaming of the show to “Art Basel Paris” reflects a closer connection with the city’s cultural heritage and global stature in the art world.
The art fair is structured across three exhibition sectors: ● Galeries, the main exhibition sector, in which exhibitors present the full breadth of their program; ● Emergence, formerly known as Galeries Émergentes, dedicated to emerging galleries and artists, that will gather exhibitors presenting young and emerging artists through solo presentations; ● and the newly introduced Premise sector that will feature nine galleries presenting singular curatorial proposals that may include work made before 1900.
We provide a special VIP program, offering a selection of art events throughout Paris, along with an exclusive preview of the fair.

The flagship talk series will feature eleven panel discussions in English and French as well as two performances by Aho Ssan and Christian Falsnaes, bringing together thought leaders from the art world and beyond. The program will explore themes such as the evolving gallery and museum landscape, emerging art trends in the non-Western and digital realms, and Paris as an epicenter of Queer culture.

History of Art Basel

Founded in 1970 by gallerists from Basel, Art Basel today stages the world's premier art shows for Modern and contemporary art, sited in Basel, Paris, Miami Beach, and Hong Kong. Defined by its host city and region, each show is unique, which is reflected in its participating galleries, artworks presented, and the content of parallel programming produced in collaboration with local institutions for each edition.
Art Basel’s engagement has expanded beyond art fairs through new digital platforms and a number of new initiatives such as the Art Basel and UBS Global Art Market Report, Intersections: The Art Basel Podcast and the BMW Art Journey. Art Basel's Global Media Partner is The Financial Times.
