About Artmonte-carlo 2024

Artmonte-carlo is an art fair whose intention is to establish on the French Riviera a leading artistic platform for contemporary art, modern art and contemporary design, in order to meet the demands of the many collectors and art lovers of the region.
The eighth edition of artmonte-carlo was held at Monaco’s Grimaldi Forum, under the patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. The Art Fair hosted 27 leading international galleries of modern and contemporary art in an elegant atmosphere and meticulous scenography.
Initiated in 2016, artmonte-carlo is a Salon d’Art whose intention is to establish a quality art event on the Côte d’Azur, honoring the demands of the region’s many collectors and art lovers. The Art Fair is distinguished by a selection of leading international galleries showcased in a carefully designed scenography and greatly enriched by a program of special events and exhibitions, promoting a dialogue between the market and the institutional world.

The Fondation Maeght, opened in 1964, hosts one of the largest collections of modern art in Europe, featuring works by renowned 20th-century figures including Pierre Bonnard, Georges Braque, Marc Chagall, Diego Giacometti, Wassily Kandinsky, Fernand Léger, and Joan Miró, as well as post-war and contemporary art.

Maria David aims to offer a quasi-clinical experience that flirts with fraudulence. Her sound and visual work is inspired by certain posthumanist theories together with personal narratives infused with post-soviet remains.

Visit of "Pasolini in chiaroscuro" exhibition at Villa Sauber, the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco

The exhibition, focusing on Pier Paolo Pasolini's artistic heritage, brings together a variety of pieces (film excerpts, paintings, drawings, installations, photographs), and culminates with a presentation of contemporary artworks that pay tribute to the artist.

The exhibition focuses on Larry Bell’s architecturally scaled works from the 1970s, known as standing walls. They reflect a change in his work that occurred in the late 1960s when he abandoned the use of metal frames in his sculptures, allowing him to work on a much grander scale, determined by the body.

Opened in 2010 as a venue of the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, Villa Paloma houses a prominent collection of modern and contemporary artworks, attracting art connoisseurs from all around the world. The exclusive Sunset Party on the occasion of the official opening of Régulus, an architectural sculpture by Guillaume Aubry, will be a memorable celebration of art and culture.

Visit of the exhibition Turner: The Sublime Legacy at Grimaldi Forum

The Grimaldi Forum, in collaboration with the Tate and its Senior Project Curator Elizabeth Brooke, will present a retrospective on the great British artist J.M.W. Turner, who is known for his dramatic use of colour, intense landscapes and turbulent marine paintings.
