About the artist

Anatoliy Kryvolap (1946, Yahotyn)
Academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.

Born on September 11th in 1946 in Yahotyn, Kyiv Oblast.
In 1976, he graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute, Faculty of Painting (V. Puzyrkov's studio).
From 1992 to 1995, Kryvolap was an active member of the "Painting Reserve" - an influential group of artists in the modern history of Ukrainian art. In the 2000s, he moved from Kyiv to the village of Zasupoivka near Yahotyn, where he lives and works.
Since 1976, he has been a regular participant in regional and international exhibitions.
In 2011, Anatolii Kryvolap's works twice set world records for sales of contemporary Ukrainian art on the international art market.
On 9 February 2012, the list of winners of the Shevchenko Prize 2012 was announced. Anatoliy Kryvolap won in the nomination "fine arts" (for the cycle of 50 works "Ukrainian Motif").

He is a member of the Committee for the National Taras Shevchenko Prize of Ukraine (since December 2016).
