Tiberiy Silvashi's Paintings
The works of Tiberiy Szilvashi, which are presented as part of the exhibition project, speak about the possibility of keeping on living in times of war.
About the artist
Tiberiy Silvashi is a Ukrainian abstract artist, and laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine in 2022. Silvashy's artworks are preserved and displayed in museums in Munich, Vienna, New Jersey, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Uzhhorod, and Kyiv, as well as in private collections in Europe and the USA. Born in 1947 in Mukachevo, Transcarpathia. In 1966, he graduated from the Republican Art School named after Shevchenko. In 1972 – graduated from Kyiv State Institute of Art. In 1995 Szilvashi was awarded "Artist of the Year" in Ukraine and obtained a scholarship in Munich. His projects were presented at the International Art Festival in Kyiv in 1996 and 1998. In 2022, he won the Shevchenko National Prize (the highest state prize of Ukraine for works of culture and arts) and the Grand Gold Medal of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
