The "Split point" is a historical object that is directly related to the historical event of 2013, when the public dismantling of the Lenin monument, which was installed at the intersection of Khreshchatyk Street and Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, took place. The event took place on December 8, 2013 around 18:00, during Euromaidan. The object is a fragment of a granite slab that was split when the monument fell, namely "Lenin's head".
The moment of toppling the monument and splitting the slab with it is incredibly and conceptually related to the hypothesis of the American political scientist and sociologist Samuel Huntington about the patterns of conflicts in the post-Cold War period. The hypothesis was first made public by him at a lecture at the American Institute of Entrepreneurship in 1992, later published in the book "The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order" (The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order) in 1996.
Despite the religious aspect of his hypothesis of the lines of division in relation to the former USSR and Ukraine, the moment of the monument's overthrow is already a historical confirmation of the rejection of Russian tsarism as a civilizational concept of life. There was a non-public dismantling of one of the thousand USSR Lenins, the dismantling of the big lie and mockery of the peoples of the former USSR began. It happened in Kyiv, thanks to the will to freedom of the people of Ukraine.
"Split point" is an artifact, a fragment of a granite slab, which records the will and efforts of all generations of the Ukrainian people in the struggle against imperial Russia. It is this granite stone that will contain this will and efforts at the level of molecular tension in the structure of the stones, which arose after the impact of the fallen monument on it.
The debris was removed from the scene the day after the dismantling of the Lenin monument. Exhibited at exhibitions in 2014 at IPSM, without processing; in 2018 at the exhibition "Dot" in the "INVOGUE" gallery, Odesa; in 2019 was presented at KyivArtWeek.

“Method and constraints, both the concept and its visual image, must relate to each other. The image should be minimalistic, light, and the concept should be abstract. Then you can create for the viewer such an experience of contemplation, which will move him to the area of reflection, where there is no bustle of everyday life. Here you can see the world as it is, as it is arranged,” says the master.
