"My posters are directed against the war, against the Russian invasion, against violence. They talk about death and pain, about love and faith, about courage and courage. I work on topics that concern me personally. The works demonstrate the support and unity of Ukrainians and gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine."
Artworks by Albina Yalosa
The exhibition "Concentration of the Will" at the M17 Contemporary Art Center presents works by the Kharkiv artist Albina Yalosa, known for rendering sacred and mythological images in her art. The Ukrainian artist has been working in the linocut technique for many years. After the Russian invasion, she travelled to the city of Lviv with only a pad and started reproducing her linocuts in the form of digital posters, accompanying them with short rhyming texts. This is how the artist "explains" to herself all the terrible things happening around her.
"My posters are against the war, against the russist invasion, against violence. They speak of death and pain, love and faith, courage and bravery. I work on topics that affect me personally. The works demonstrate support and unity of Ukrainians and gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine," - Albina Yalosa about her series within the exhibition "Concentration of the Will" at the M17 Contemporary Art Center.
