About the artist

Andrii Tsoi was born in 1971 in Murmansk, Russia. He graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk State Art College named after Ye.V. Vuchetych, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Granada, postgraduate studies at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. He is a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine, one of the most interesting contemporary Ukrainian artists. In 2008, he was included in the rating catalog "Contemporary Art of Ukraine in the Independence Period: 100 Names".
His works have been successfully presented at exhibitions, kept in private and gallery collections in Ukraine, Spain, Lithuania, Romania, Jordan, USA, Cayman Islands, UAE, Italy, Canada, France, Czech Republic, China.
2001 - Assistant Professor, Department of Painting and Composition, National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. Kyiv, Ukraine.
In the creative activity, the artist aims to convey neither external, nor internal, but subconscious content of the world. Andrii Tsoy's works can be assuredly attributed to the ‘post-Babylon’ series. The use of a gold stamp brings the theme and titles of works closer to the symbolic reflection of the transitional ‘world of observations’, to the whole coordinate system of the ‘world of observers’.
"On every canvas of mine you can find the number 762. Some people think it is related to numerology. Let it remain a mystery for them. And that’s how it happened. One day I had a dream - a forest, grass, some creature in white (I don't remember if it was a girl or a boy) is walking towards him and saying: “Tell me three numbers and you will fly ..." And I am naming them. And, indeed, I am beginning to soar over the meadow..." Andrii Tsoy
